Skincare for the Eye Area

That’s right, today we’re talking about eyes…

The skin around the eyes is the most delicate area of skin on your face, possibly the most delicate area of skin anywhere on your body. One way to reduce the appearance of these bruise-like marks around the eye is to not rub your eyes, and just generally be a bit more gentle with them.

Applying Eye Treatments

When applying creams, lotions, and even eye make-up, it’s so important to take a bit of care so that you can keep the skin around your eyes looking as healthy as possible.

Here’s what I suggest…

1. Put a little of the product you’re using onto your ring finger – always use your ring finger as this is the weakest of all your fingers.
2. Gently dab the lotion (or other product) under the eye, starting at the outer corner and working your way towards the bridge of your nose.
3. Next, gentle dab the lotion along the upper lid, again, working from the outer corner, inwards.
4. Continue to dab and pat in these directions until the lotion is soaked into the skin.

NOTE: Start with just a little product on your finger, you can always add more if needed, but over-loading this delicate area can do more harm than good.
NOTE: The gentle “dabbing” action is very important. If you rub or drag the skin then damage and wrinkles will be the result.
NOTE: Working from the inner corner of the eye, outwards, will encourage crow’s-feet wrinkles.

If you feel the damage has been done and it’s too late for you to start worrying about looking after the skin around your eyes, fear not! Below are a few really simple ways of caring for your eyes, and perhaps even reverse some of the signs already showing…

Cucumber Eye Pack

Cucumbers have long been known to soothe the eye area and reduce puffiness.
All you need is a cucumber and a sharp knife.
Cut two slices of cucumber, spritz the eye area with water, lay down with your eyes closed and place a slice over each eye.
Relax for 10 minutes.

Eye Bag Treatment

Raw potato slices help to tighten the puffy “eye bags” we can sometimes see below the eyes.
All you need is a potato and a sharp knife.
Simply cut to slices of potato, spritz the eye area with water, lay down and close your eyes, place a potato slice over each eye.
Leave for 10 minutes for best results.

Crow’s-Feet Treatment

Egg whites help to plump and firm wrinkled skin.
All you need is an egg, a whisk, and some cotton wool.
Separate the egg white and yolk – you only need the white for this treatment. Beat the egg white to just before it forms soft peaks.
To use, dip some cotton wool into the egg white, then dab in a crescent-shape around the eye, along the cheekbone and the outer eye area.
Allow this to sit for 10 minutes, spritz the area with water, then remove using cotton wool.

These treatments are so easy, and consistent use can produce noticeable, positive results. Plus, they’re an excuse to lie down and relax, undisturbed for ten minutes

What are you waiting for?!Lol

Until next post...remain beautiful.
